Sabrina's a month old

 

Hard to believe we've already spent a month with this sweet little girl! In that time, she's learned to focus her eyes, smile, laugh (kind of), cry, poop, pee, eat, sleep, and melt our hearts.

Brent calculated that we only have 215 more months until she goes to college, and that doesn't seem like enough. We're loving every minute with her.

Sabrina smiles!

Our happy healthy girl is now smiling! It's very fun!

We also had her 1-month checkup yesterday and she's in the 50th
percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. Way to go
Sabrina! Keep up the good growing and stretching. All other systems
are "go" as well. She proved her functionality by peeing on the
doctor. She's pretty much perfect if you ask us.

Our favorite Snooze Button

We thought the snooze button on the alarm clock was nice, but this one
is far better. Too bad it's not as reliable.

Sabrina meets her paternal grandparents

Sabrina's been having a blast hanging out with Grandma Gail and
Grandpa Rich this weekend.

Chilly walk around the lake

At the advice of a friend, we decided to take Sabrina out for a walk today to teach her the concept of being AWAKE during the day, in the hopes that she would then SLEEP all night. The idea is to expose her to fresh air and sunlight to get her internal clock on schedule. Well, that would be easier if the temperature was higher than 15 degrees as it was today! But we powered through the cold, bundled up the little girl and headed out for our walk. It was so cold though that Sabrina was bundled in several layers, then wrapped up into my chest and then covered with my jacket (as you can see) so I don't think she got a single breath of fresh air the entire time. But maybe she knew we were outside and it was daytime? hmmm...we'll see how tonight goes with the sleeping and we'll report back later!

First Lucile's Outing

In honor of Tim's birthday this week, we ventured out (at 8:30am, mind you...pretty impressive for us, we thought) to Lucile's for Sabrina's first beignets, spice tea and oatmeal. Sabrina seemed to be cool with the cajun breakfast style, so I think she'll be okay with becoming a regular (as if she has a choice!)

Sabrina's a week old!

Hard to believe we've already spent a week with this little girl. Lots of activity, not so much sleep, but loads of fun snuggling with her. We've posted some more pics of her on Picasa

Chicken dancing in the Wisconsin New Year

Sabrina did her first chicken dance to celebrate New Year's in the Central time zone. She's got a lot of potential as a chicken dancer with her chubby little chicken legs.

Sabrina rings in the new year

Sabrina slept through her first new year with her extended Clarke family (minus Dante). Noise makers, champagne, and even a frighteningly rejuvenated Dick Clark wasn't exciting enough to stir this little girl.

She can't wait to celebrate her next holiday with her extended Halsey family.
