January 29th = 67 degrees
February 1st = expected HIGH of MINUS 4 degrees - are you kidding me?!?!
Gotta love the Colorado weather - it keeps us on our toes. We enjoyed two amazing days this weekend of hot, sunny weather. Unfortunately Sabrina got a stomach bug at daycare (every two weeks she gets something...argh...) on Thursday night, so we split the day on Friday so that we could stay home with her. I stayed home in the morning and Brent took the afternoon shift. The nice part was that she didn't throw up after about 8am and she was in a wonderful mood the whole day! So it was a blessing in disguise to get a beautiful day to spend with our girl. I spent all morning out on the back deck or down at the park with her (while I gave her 1 oz. of gatorade every 15 minutes and then slowly eased into food by about noon). She graced us with a very healing and convenient 3 hour nap, then Brent took her back to the park in the afternoon and spent several more hours out on the back deck. We haven't been able to spend much time outside with her since she started walking in early November so this was a treat. It made me so excited for Spring! It was fun to take her for a walk too in which she actually did the walking. She's pretty much all over the place so trying to get from our house to the neighbor's house takes most of the day, but it's a fun trip. She's so curious and adventurous, we love it.
She still loves the swings at the park and has been liking the spring horse, the slides and the tunnel too. It's great to see her walking around the park now and deciding for herself where she wants to go.
Here are a few pictures from a family hike / trail run we went on on Saturday. Brent was trying to help me out by tiring out Pongo before Brent leaves us for 4 days to LA for a work trip. They ran and Sabrina and I hiked. At the end I let Sabrina out of the backpack to walk around on her own and she realized that rocks and dirt and grass and...everything...make walking much more difficult! But it was great to watch her navigate the uneven ground. She gets more stable every day.

| January Hiking in Colorado |
The weather has already started to turn; it's cold tonight and we're expecting snow tomorrow followed by bitter cold by Tuesday. As I said, it keeps us on our toes! I hope Brent enjoys his time at the beach in LA! (harumph!!)
