Great Grandma Halsey Memorial Weekend

Sabrina's Great Grandma Halsey (Dora Jane Halsey) passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010...ten days before we were flying out to WI to introduce her to Sabrina. It was such a shame that she did not get to meet our little girl, but she lived a fabulous life and had a huge family to show for it. We spent a sad, but nice, weekend with the entire Halsey crew. We got to see family members who I had never even met (Molly) and Brent hadn't seen in over 10 years. Sabrina was the superstar of the weekend with tons of great smiles and giggles to keep us all laughing despite the circumstances. We had a visitation on Friday night and then a service on Saturday morning, both in Lake Geneva, WI. It was a beautiful day on Saturday with the sun shining and blue sky so the service at the cemetery could not have been more beautiful. We laid Grandma Halsey to rest, went back to the church for some grub, then went to a park where 4 of her great grandsons ran around, played games and climbed trees, Sabrina wiggled and rolled on a blanket in the shade...and we all thought about how much Grandma Halsey would have loved the scene. She touched and created so many lives. It was a wonderful weekend celebrating her life.
We went back to Germantown for the rest of the weekend with Grandma Gail, Grandpa Rich, Aunt Nay and Uncle Rob and Sabrina's cousins Jacob and Josh. This was the first time the boys met Sabrina and it was so adorable to see the two of them try to teach Sabrina things like how to roll over. They were exceptionally sweet to her and gave her tons of pats, hugs and kisses all weekend. We went to the zoo on Sunday and it was the first day that it topped 90 degrees in WI this year and we felt it. Plus the humidity!! Sabrina was a trooper with no complaints about the heat, despite her little body sweating like crazy.
Oh, we also went to the Harley Davidson Museum on Friday afternoon, so there are photos of that as well. Poppy and Uncle Tim will be proud to see Sabrina on a motorcycle!
Here are the photos from the weekend.
